Görlitz is a charming historic city in Germany, located right on the border with Poland. It is known for its beautifully preserved old town, with buildings from Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and Art Nouveau periods. Walking through Görlitz feels like stepping back in time, which is why it is often used as a filming location for international movies.

The city is divided by the Neisse River: the German side is Görlitz, while the Polish side is called Zgorzelec. Several bridges connect the two, making it easy to explore both cultures in one visit.

Görlitz is not very large, but it offers a rich cultural experience, cozy cafés, and a relaxed atmosphere. It’s an ideal destination for people who enjoy history, architecture, and quiet, picturesque places away from big tourist crowds.

The German Centre for Astrophysics (Deutsches Zentrum für Astrophysik, DZA) is a large-scale research center currently being built in Lusatia, Germany. Its goal is to conduct world-class astrophysics research while combining science with advanced technology and digital innovation.

The center focuses on studying the fundamental structures of the universe, such as galaxies, dark matter, and cosmic phenomena, and works closely with international observatories. At the same time, it develops new technologies and processes large amounts of astronomical data, making it an important hub for both research and digitalization.

In addition to its scientific mission, the DZA is designed to support economic and social change in the region. By creating jobs, attracting international experts, and cooperating with industry and universities, it aims to become a driver of innovation and development in eastern Germany.
