Description
This poster presents the China-VO (NADC) Dataset Metadata Specification, a foundational framework developed by the Chinese Virtual Observatory (China-VO) National Astronomical Data Center (NADC) to standardize the description and discovery of astronomical datasets. As data volumes grow exponentially, this specification addresses the critical need for a unified metadata standard to ensure data produced by Chinese telescopes, missions, and simulation projects are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR).The specification defines a comprehensive set of core metadata elements, including observational parameters (e.g., coordinates, wavelength, instrument mode), provenance information, data quality indicators, and access rights. It is designed to be flexible, accommodating data from diverse sources such as radio, optical, and space-based observatories. By aligning with international standards like IVOA protocols, it facilitates seamless cross-border data integration and collaboration within the global astronomy community.
